.22 handgun for my daughter????

I purchased a Spanish Star Model F with a 4.2" barrel for my two daughters and nephew to use.
Of course spare magazines could be a show stopper. I bought the handgun with one mag for 275 used.
About 2 years later I stumbled onto a spare mag at a reasonable price.
But this was before ITAR got out of hand.

I love my Beretta 87 Target, but it's $1000 and there isn't any left in Canada until they do another run. Awesome pistol if you can find one though, you wont regret it.

May I suggest:
Revolver S&W M17 shooter grade can be found for $500+, easy to clean, no jamming, very accurate and will keep value and last forever.
Pistol: S&W 422/622 small, easy to clean, cheap $350 or so, reasonably accurate, fun.

I never shot one, but from what I recall, it's rather big. Do you think it fits the "small hand" requirement?

I'm taking my Ruger MkIII out tomorrow for the first time. I have medium sized hands and so far I find the trigger feels very close to the web of my hand...really have to curl my finger back to get it in the trigger guard...maybe just used to my p226 and HK45, but it was surprising how small it feels considering it weighs more than the Sig

I have smallish hands and found the grip on a ruger mk III just slightly to small for my liking, so it would probablly be just right for your daughter.

Wife with small hands uses the Ruger MKIII with the Hogue rubber thumb grips and finds it great..
I used it as well and have larger hands and it's great

I'm favouring the Ruger, as I've had my MK11 for 26 years and its incredibly accurate. The one downside is the process of disassembly /assembly. I'm not sure if the MK111 is any different.

2nd choice would be the Buckmark, accurate, dependable, good looking firearm and priced well.

3rd choice....None

Speaking from experience, I don't think you and your daughter could go wrong with a Browning Buckmark.

Reliable, inexpensive, easy to clean and maintain, accurate, eats almost any 22 ammo, and most importantly, FUN!!!!

Another vote for the MKIII, great gun, lots of stock options if she wants to switch things up. If looking for a more casual, tactical style, try the M&P 22, samas the M&P 9mm with the interchangeable grip options at half the cost. Great gun!

It's not that big really. It weighs 29 ounces, so under 2 pounds. If I'm not mistaken, the handle is the same size as other 8' series Beretta's. I find the grips make it feel a little thin myself.

Great gun eh? You obviously have never shot nor handled one. The grips are not interchangable and they cost 70% of the price of a stock M&P9 not 50%. I have one and it's nothing to write home about.
