22 hollow points not enough!?!?!

From my experience: the bigger the hole in the bullet, the bigger the hole in the beast. Winchester experts and 333's both have a nice big hollow point and don't require nearly the number of follow up shots that Dynapoints do. Fed bulk pack lies somewhere in the middle.
 
Maybe so but the Winchester experts don't feed very well in either of my .22's. Which is a pain in the ass as I bought 2k of them a few months ago... I've been happy with federal 525 pack hp's for accuracy and hitting power.. Stingers and velocitors and expeditors (sp?) come out a little more random than I want. Close up they are awesome though and I am not really that picky, I just really did a lot of shooting and testing when thinking about using my .22 for turkey in the spring. I tried every one out.
 
220 gr Flat noses out of a .375H&H, not one wounding to date.

Other then that, often a clean head shot (with a 22lr) will get away down it's hole, they tend to get kicking around from that, but I'd say no suffering, pretty sure no brain = clinically brain dead.

I have an old Cooey m60 and a bolt action Marlin 880. It's a ducks unlimited model so there's not a lot of them with that number or something but it shares parts with quite a few of them. There's a 3-9 x 40 bushnell on my marlin and small game is toast unless it runs really fast. Then it is very hard. It's a decently accurate rifle and pushes me to learn how to shoot better.

Gonna break down and buy a 10/22 and goodies next week with my friend Steve (Wizzardsl). We shoot together a lot and we have the rifles, we have the shotguns and we have the pistols. We need more fun .22's.
 
I shot a few hundred this spring with Yellow Jackets. Pretty devastating round, but the ground squirrels are pretty tough.

Lots got back into their holes, but I'm confident 99% expired pretty quickly (i.e. seconds).

Lots died where hit, including both head and chest shots. A few tried to get away without use of their back legs, but that's where a semi (Marlin 60) can finish the job quickly, as they are not that fast with front legs only :redface:

One of my quickest/light switch off kills was a shot up the anus that exited throught the throat. He/She just dropped off their legs and was still.

This was my first gopher 'hunt', and I have a new respect for their toughness.
