Hey guys, back on the 22 Hornet trail..as I'm thinking it'll be my next rifle. I was reading-up on the CZ527 last night, found some posts on US forums about it. They don't seem to be discussed here often. Anyhow, it would be cool to see what you're all running for rifles/scopes..feel free to chime-in on your best reload recipe if you home-roll your own ammo.

Thanks!

Hi. Welcome back into the Hornet world. Mine is actually a K-Hornet that i bought last fall. Did not had the time to trial the ammo i prepared. First i had to fireform a batch of casings, then find the bullet i wanted to shoot with and after all that winter came. So now, i have a batch of about 100 K-hornet with 3 different bullets and about 20 powder reciepies. Don't need to tell you that i am awaiting the upcoming springs with a lot of enthousiasme. Here she is a Sako M-78 toped with a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5to14X40mm. Not one of the manufacturer you mentionned but still a Hornet. The perfect set up for me.

This is not my H&R K-Hornet, but it looks exactly like this and shares this frame with a 7.62 Soviet... We like the H35 VM, H40 VM and H52 BTHP, with Lil' Gun and H322... and download the 45 SP Hornet bullets with 3 grains of TB.

Thanks for the replies guys! Hoyt~do you have an H&R in 22 Hornet (not K)? Laminate? Next question, do you have a layaway plan? :)

I had two Hornets originally, but rechambered to K-Hornet... it was such a tremendous improvement that I have my other two Hornets being rechambered to "K-H" as I write this... going to K is a simple task (rechamber) and requires no additional work... and we picked up 300 fps. After testing a couple .17 Hornets, we decided we liked the K's better and sold the 17H's... the K does everything you can ask... I had a two year hunt to find these H&R Hornets... but they are out there if you keep your eyes open. Yes, these are laminated thumbhole Sterling stocks from Boyd's, I finished them in a textured black paint. Also, I do have a lay-away plan by the way... I lay them away between range sessions and hunts! ;)

P.S - I said my K-Hornet looks exactly like above, but actually it has a 3-9X4mm Mueller HYbrid scope rather than the 2-7X32mm Multi-Shot seen above.

Ha, sounds like fun Hoyt. The guns aren't out there because you're buying them all! lol Nope, think I'll stick with the regular Hornet when the time comes...looking for something that is a smaller step above .22WMR.

not the best photo, But my grandpas 1949ish CZ ZKW465 .22Hornet love the factory irons, an double set trigger. has seen some bush an taken a ride in the back of a few utes id say, but its priceless to me, was so stoked when it got handed back to him after 60 years. you beauty

You can load the K to whatever velocity you want, from equivalent .22 short with TB to just shy of standard low end .223 loads with LG and H322... even primer charged pellets for grouse and garage plinking... @ 5 cents per.
