Can anyone recommend a good bullet to load up in the hornet case. I was thinking 40 grain blitzking but don't know if it will work also thinking 40 grain nosler ballistic tip
The size and shape of the case make it a bit tougher to find a bullet that will work right and I would like something with a bit better ballistic coefficient than some of the classic hornet bullet choices

I've been using 9.7 gr of Win 296 under 45 gr Sierras. You can choose which side the gopher will sing soprano on...

You may find better, but I am completely satisfied.

I use the 40gr V-Max in my Anschutz 1730. I load to .010" from the lands, and they average sub 1/2moa in my rifle. I do have to trim some of the plastic tip off, to get them to fit the magazine, but it doesn't seem to make a noticeable difference in accuracy or point of impact at 200 yards. I am using Lil Gun, which produces just over 2900fps.

Lil gun works with 40gn V Max for me. The more I put in the better the groups. Got up to 14 grns but thats in a KE.

What is the length of a 40 grain v max? I want to see how they compare
To the 40 grain blitzking the blitzking measure out to .680 and the max overall length of the finished product can be around 1.790" to fit in my mag any info on what's working for you will be fantastic

The Hornady 35 gr plastic tip works well for me, as does the Winchester 46HP and Sierra 45gr semi pointed.

lil gun 13g and nosler bal tip 40g or seirra 40g (hornet) is what I use in mine.

46gr Winchester HP and H110 or IMR4227 worked well for me

8.0 grns of H4227 and Sierra v52 gr HPBT match is my go to load up to 100 yards
