I have a chance to get a .22 for next to nothing or maybe ever nothing, but it has no clip. Can anyone tell me if they heard of it. It is a bolt action, I don't have a model but I think its and American Grizzly. If I can find a clip it might be a good cheap plinker.

Also does it hurt a clip to leave bullets in it, hurt the spring over longer periods of time.

Thanks, First time forum user.

welcome to CGN.. Hopefully somebody will be able to address your inquiry as I have not heard of that particular maker. Just for future reference, its a magazine or mag not a clip(common mistake) and it holds the ammunition or rounds. Bullets are the metal projectile that separates from the casing at a high rate of speed hopefully towards the target...And yes, if rounds are left in the mag for extended periods of time, the spring MAY tend to lose some of its properties, resulting in poor feeding.
I had to say it before somebody jumped on it in a less diplomatic manner.
Lets hope your inquiry is addressed soon.
Cheers

I think the one you are referring to was made by North American Arms. I had one about 35 years ago, but have'nt seen one since.

Depends on how long the rounds are left in the mag. I heard or read somewhere that 5 or 10 years or so was OK.

North American Arms
The model was Grizzly.
I have a catalogue that shows their plant, think it was here in Ontario.
Usually sell very cheap at the gun shows, less than Cooeys.
Check on RimfireCentral. I think I saw there that a common mag fits.

like the 2nd one from the top:confused: north america arms grizzly no. 10 .22 bolt action rifle. mine is a single shot with no magazine but yours is likely the same gun. accurate little bugger too. 1/2" groups are the norm at 50 yards with cheap ammo;)

With a little bit of patience and persistence I'm sure you could find a mag for it.. If it's a good enough deal I'd definitely grab it up! There are enough resources around to find what you're looking for (provided you are looking for something that actually exists :p)

GOTO www.gunpartscorp.com goto "naaco" they have parts listed and a photo of a mag which looks very close to some of the mags used by Remington , Winchester and on the CIL Anshutz .22 rifles. If you can find one of these mags some filing to make it latch may be necessary. NAACO guns were also made in .22 mag, check to see if yours is .22 lr or .22 mag. THE MAGS WILL BE DIFFERENT.
