i remember when i was in cadets we used lee enfields converted to .22 anyway i was wondering if there was a place that civi's can buy one of these?

also how difficult would it be to swap the barrel for a different calibre? say 270 or 243? i assume i would also have to change the bolt and make it a single shot but i dont mind single shots.

If you do, please start with an already bubba'd No. 1 or No.4. Please don't carve up a No.7 or No.8.

+2, find a bubbled enfield for that project.

I haven't heard of a .270 conversion, but I'm sure it has been done.

I know of .223, and 7.62x39 conversions.

The 7.62x39 is the easiest as you don't have to change the barrel.

If one was to go more powerful, then I'd use an already carved up P14 or P17 as it has a much stronger action.
