Anyone have any sources as to where to find some 22 Long ammo. My buddy has a Model 77 Winchester , that is stamped with a 22 long on the barrel, and would like to find some ammo. I have not seen any on the shelves for years !!!

Just looked up the gun and as far as I can tell they were all manufactured in 22LR. Which makes sense if it's a semi auto. 22long ammunition hasn't been around for a very long time.

long and LR use the same casing. You don't hear me suggesting anything, but my 22long browning trombone takes any type of 22lr that i can muster up without an issue. i usually stick to lower velocity LR just for my own happiness

I've only seen 77's in .22lr, and can find no reference to .22long model in my Numrich catalog...

That said, the only .22long I've seen in ages would be CCI CBlong, but I doubt they would cycle the action.

Double check the markings on the rifle...almost positive only .22lr were produced.

The 22 long is a LR case loaded with a 29gr bullet@ a higher velocity than LR- your rifle shoot LR no problem

I have shot longs when they were still avalable

I like using the CB longs, and CB shorts for grouse hunting, I wish there was a better selection of longs and shorts.
