Our club has a 25m HEATED indoor range. We shoot .22 LR, CF IPSC and General Handgun throughout the winter months.
My wife and I have CMMG .22 LR conversion units for our AR15s. I have proposed using them indoors and am getting nothing but static and reasons why we shouldn't/couldn't/can't from one source. Reasons like:
- we don't have bullet proof side walls
- we don't have a bullet proof ceiling (but we do have bullet baffles)
-CQB with a carbine indoors presents issues
- the cases on the floor
- what if ...., etc.
Strange how there is no concern about side walls and ceilings when we shoot .45 ACP and 9mm handguns indoors. We have suffered such damage in the past resulting from range rentals to the rcmp and other agencies.
On the CMMG unit, the bolt stays open on the last shot, making it ready to insert a chamber flag. Removing the magazine closes the bolt on the chamber flag, allowing the carbine's safe removal to permit scoring/taping.
All participants will be IPSC "Black Badge" qualified and instruction on the handling of carbines will be required.
HELP !!!
I'm looking for reasons why we SHOULD do this and not why we shouldn't.
