Yeah, they sure do.

One ate two of our lambs this spring. Took the first one out of the pasture, the second from inside the pen. I lost about a weeks worth of sleep, CO's eventually got it with their dogs.

There are a few around for sure.

Some talk of wolves in the high country, not been seen down low yet.

WRT my previous, I am rethinking. Still think some livelier ammo is worth a try, if not for the velocity (which will indeed be shed off before it's arrival downrange), for the rotational speed, which may give you the stability. Same twist rate at higher vel, should equal a higher rotational speed, no?

Was it Hatcher that shot the .30 cal up into the sky from the boat, and had the bullets land, base first, still spinning?

In any case, I would be trying some different ammo. But if you ever need a new home fer that Martini...

Looks like I may be in AB next week. Dunno what my schedule will look like.

I did some 200 yard stuff with a few of my rimfire rifles. Superb fun even if it's not pushing the limits as far as some in this thread.

My old Cooey 600 that is set up with a BSA Sweet .22 scope produces roughly 5 inch groups at 200 yards. But I didn't play with any different ammo types. Just shot some Blazer.

My BSA Martini with the match peep sights has no trouble at all keeping MOST of the bullets in a 5'ish inch group at 200 with "fliers" out to about 8 inches. This being with CCI Standard Velocity ammo. The Martini doesn't like Blazer. Also keep in mind that the peep sights in this case were being guided by less than stellar eyeballs courtesy of myself. I'm sure a keener set of eyes would do better by somewhat.

My recently set up CIL/Anschutz 125 with the Anschutz peep rear and Lyman globe style front pretty much matches the BSA. So again it would appear that the limit for me and mine is my aging Mk I eyeballs. Oddly enough the CIL/Anschutz LOVES Remington Target. Gotta go buy a couple of bricks of that stuff quickly before it's gone.

At any rate pushing out to 200 and 300 with these is a HUGE amount of fun. I'm actually looking forward to trying it on days with a bit of wind where I stick some small streamers on sticks out to help with gauging windage.

check out clayne_b 's posts from a few years back. he did some super lr with a 22 using a cz scout. impressive to say the least. your slow bullets may keyhole at 300m but not all of them do.
