22 lr dirt penetration

How many inches of dirt will a 22 lr penetrate?
The Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) measures soils by particulate size. Washed sand for sandblasting or concrete has evenly sized particles, and very few fines. You want this for water filtration beds and golf course sand traps. The other end is clay and fine particles. It is sticky when wet, and makes great baseball infields but lousy construction material (except maybe clay bricks).

To me, soil is mineral and dirt is organics.

It would depend on it's composition, how dense it is, how tightly packed it is and how deep it is as well as the bullet design. (hollow point or solid, standard velocity or high speed)

A very vague question to ask.
