I have a Buck Mark Camper and it should work with a standard .22LR but it doesn't. There have been various problems with both AE and Blazer .22LR bulk the problems are casings being stuck between the slide and the barrel and now after all the ammo is out of the clip the slide comes forward and if I pull the trigger it dry fires an empty chamber. The question is about the ammo, does it have enough energy to rack the slide back far enough to engage the slide lock??

alot of .22's are picky for one brand or another, if you dont think its got enough pop, get something a little faster like velocitors or CCI stingers. makes a fun day to take 10 or 12 differnt boxes and try them all for accuracy and reliability.

I noticed that gun oil is thin but this is a new gun, should I get a revolver to up the reliability,or maybe I just want to get more guns......:D

Sure, who needs and excuse? ;)

But it shouldn't be all that picky. A good strip/cleaning and lubrication may help. Even a new gun as they often get overly oiled for shipping and storage with mediocre quality lubricants. If not, either bring it back to the retailer for a service/replacement, or spend $50 extra bucks at your favorite gunsmith to give it a tuning. People often call their .22's similarly "picky", but 99% of the time it a simple tune-up by a good gunsmith will find the problem.

These cheaper guns are are factory made/assembled on production lines, not hand tuned. They are going to have minor variances in quality and performance.

If it's a new gun, you should strip it down and clean it thoroughly. Many manufacturers ship their guns covered with a packing grease that is not meant
as a lubricant. I don't know if browning does this with their Buckmarks, since I've never bought one, but I always strip and clean any new gun, or new to me gun, before it ever
see's a round in the chamber.

On many guns the mag activates the slide stop to hold it open after the last shot. Besides giving everything a good cleaning and trying different ammo it might be something to look at.

If you look around on a few forums (RimfireCentral) you will likely find comments similar to yours about many 22 cal pistols.

If you use CCI Mini Mag or equivalent you will have far fewer problems.

Excellent point. I had the same problem with a CZ 75 Kadet adapter kit not activating the slide stop. The culprit, that damned packing grease inside the mags (Oops, guess I missed that.). Once I had them cleaned up, everything functioned beautifully.:D

I was up on the range today and the problem is with the mag. sometimes it works sometimes not. I don't think it is serious and should be able to fix it. Can I shoot CCI Mini mags in the Browning Buck Mark Camper??????
