Marlin 39a, the older the better, they are the real deal.

For new you've got the Browning which while nice, (the lever throw is very short) it is a bit on the small side with a heavier trigger that is hard to improve.
I also have each manufacture,I prefer the browning,in my case. Try them out for yourself and make up your own mind.The Winchester may be the better of your guns.
I would suggest the Marlin 57 levermatic. I picked one up off the EE a couple of years ago and it comes to the range with me nearly every time. I have had no problems with it at all. It's a keeper for sure.
