.22 LR prices climbing up again

Incorrect. Now Liberals are gettin into guns. First time buyers into the sport. In general this means an overall expansion of the sport/hobby/whatever. Demand wont drop until the fear goes away.

Hopefully this will also mean further development of Canadian manufacturing. We already have a good start but more would be helpful.

I just heard today that there is powder production in Canada. Manufacturing just started a couple of months ago.

quick.. better stock up on those ! Last time there was this kind of bull#### spreading around, it was almost impossible to find CCI minimags... went and bought all they had at CT LOL

The Canadian Tire in Hamilton on Rymal road is apparently trying to get approval to sell firearms. This is the store that moved from upper gage they are still getting their ac together but hopefully we'll have another source in the near future.

Yah well don`t think about going to WSS in Winnipeg....SFA in that joint ! LOL

Cabelas pretty good ,C-Tire (bought a few hundred CCI Minimag and Minimag HP)

Peavy Mart sells .22 ,various brands, front counter.

NOW.....try and find .17 HM2...........NOTHING !!!!

Big deal, like all hobbies you have to pay to play, there is no free rides in life the sooner some people realize this the better off they will be.

Yup for sure ,pay to play, and I know that full well as I shoot .17 Hornet as well as .17 Rem.Fireball (I don`t reload and don`t plan to.....so I suck it up like a good little princess..LOL)

Another of my hobbies is high power rocketry,if you knew how much K,L and M impulse motors cost per shot (re-useable cases) you`d be happy shooting 1000 rounds of match grade ammo an outing LOL

They opened a CT here last year and the thing is freaking massive, twice the size of the one it replaced. Even have parking specifically for people who are coming to pick up an online order. The new firearms section has a decent selection of new guns and ammo with a few isles of related products. Much more then they used to have. Glad to see them getting back into the game... even if I'm the only person on the bloody planet who has never seen a good deal on ammo there LoL.

To get back to this .22 ammo pricing, I really can`t offer much ,as I just got back into .22 rifles (caught the bug over Christmas holidays ,but have not been out to shoot.....it is Winterpeg afterall LOL)

The last time I purchased .22 LR ammo has got to be well over 10 years, maybe closer to 15 !! I`ve only shot .22 LR out of my revolver and that was only one outing last summer ,so I was using old stock I had in my stash.

So as you can see, I am completely out of the loop as per pricing....BUT...I am slowly buying .22 LR and .22 WMR every weekend and won`t stop (I have plans for a few more rifles for the collection)

I just bought some CCI .22 LR Minimag HP and regular Minimag for like $ 10.99 /100 at my C-Tire (cheaper than Cabelas,,,,which was out of stock on those) Not sure if that`s a good price ,but I have not seen it cheaper in my area and or lately.

I plan on buying a few brands, but will stay away from Winchester and Remington golden bullet (I bought a bulk pack ,but not sure if the quality is there,at least visually they are lacking) I will try the Federal 3 various Federal "value packs" as I have seen good reviews on them.Of course there is Eley ,plenty of that at cabelas, but not cheap and besides ,I`m only going to be a plinker.

But at any rate ,I guess it`s never too late to stock up now while there is plenty out there and at the prices they are at.I doubt the prices will ever drop ,except perhaps during sales.

Cheers

Crappy tire just raised the Hornady 4570 from 47.99 to 54.99 wonder if it's because every time they get stock I go in and buy the 2 or 3 boxes they get in... prices are always going up... as for shopping at Canadian tire.. I have no choice.. where I live there is only one dedicated gun shop and there prices so are outrageous I refuse to give them my business... my last experience was with 4570.. bought a box for $54 2 days later went to buy another and the price was almost $70 when I asked you they said market price went up
.. I said but it's the same stock you had the other day.. he just said again market price went up.. I made it loud and clear as I was walking out laughing that I would never be back... so now I either buy online or at Canadian tire

I always incorporate my hobby with road trips,
I recently had to go up to Edmonton and since the Calgary shooting center refuses to stock ANY Multicam HSGI products I just stop in at red deer shooting center.

Relax boys, don't get yourselves all frazzled. You can say I have earned my living the last 39 years anticipating prices by following supply and demand cycles.
We all know why ammo prices doubled and tripled the last 10 years, and it had very little to do with metal prices or the Canadian dollar. In recent years, I had seen very low inventories of ammunition in both US and Canadian retail outlets due to hoarding and stockpiling.
This weekend, for the first time in a couple of years, all three US retail stores I visited were fully stock-piled with every caliber. And interestingly enough, ammo is on sale and prices are dropping. The price of a 325 brick was $17.99 US, this is a major drop. It's coming gentlemen, and soon to a store near you. So stop with the panic buying and wait for the irrefutable laws of supply and demand to kick in, they ALWAYS do :)

Just checked Sail's website and they no longer have CCI Mini Mag's listed. Used to have them in stock for $9.99. I was always able to price match with my local CT and get them for a steal with the bonus 10% CT money on top. Tenda has good bulk prices but the $20 shipping cost makes their .22 on par with everywhere else unless buying a lot. Hopefully key West is right.
