Well, being new to guns…..this is over my head.". . . fussy with ammo ..." translates to "More Accurate". Not fussy = Sloppy chamber. "Be careful" in case you hit what you're aiming at.
It's Not a 'target barrel' unless it's a "... Match Chamber barrel ...", ie a Varmint Match Target Rifle = VMTR , LRP, At-One, and other models often available.

Lots of good advice given so far. Personally I love my CZ 22's. I currently own two 452's, but I've had a few others. They all have shot very well, and they are pretty easy to find.

How I started 25 years ago. Showing up as a jr member of the club with a box of 22 ammo. Asking people if I can borrow their guns.

Apperently... Colt Canada that owned by CZ group is helping with the gun confiscating.
So we are all suppose to throw away our CZs. Maybe make a youtube video of us cutting them up. Tell them to F off, etc.
Well...Maybe I'll wait. The polyanna side of me thinks that the amnesties that keep being extended might just continue, and the "voluntary" (yeah, Eff Off) retirement of our toys won't happen.. (Do I really believe that with the way firearm owners are demonized?)
Brno No. 2 or CZ 452, won't be the newest rifle you ever own, but they are slick, super accurate, balanced and beautifully made. It may well be your favorite rifle. Mine sticks around while the others come and go. All of the rifles I owned were good rifles, but the 452 is just as right as right can be.

But buying and selling used CZ ain't going to put a financial dent in them. Hell Ive seen many anti elon musk telsa drivers. You can put all the bumper stickers on your telsa. You still supporting them.

Ok.. not buying any firearms these days…looking at selling some… the CZ85 was bought used in… 2002? I am rather cranky about the whole firearm law thing in Canada … owned guns since the days you could buy a surplus SMLE out of a barrel for about $10… with no taxes, registration, FAC or PAL, or ID of any kind. The tighter gun ownership gets in this country, it seems the stupider governments seem to get about it all.
Well, I ended up making a choice and ended up going with the Tikka T1X MTR. I looked at CZ, Tikka and Bergara models, but it came down to price as I was able to get the Tikka at Bullseye North for a couple hundred $$$ off MSRP during a Black Friday sale.
Did lots of reading, had some conversations with knowledgeable folks from this forum, and went to the LGS and tried all these brands on for size. Should be here next week and can’t wait, then it is off to get a scope for it. Man it’s fun playing with guns.

You will appreciate the accuracy for gophers and target shooting. Tikka also has a ton of aftermarket options, so if you want to upgrade it in any way in the future you can do so with the rifle you already have... but it might be perfect for you as is!
