Ok I have a dumb question...

I've owned a AMT automag in 22 Mag.. and I've had and have a bunch of 10/22's...

Design wise, what is the big difference in a 10/22 in WMR vs LR.... I have a Rhineland R-22 is't based on the 10/22 uses their bolt (sorta)...

The R22 has a massive barrel so I doubt chamber pressure would be an issue... Would it be a matter or reaming the chamber and getting an 10/22 Magnum bolt and rod? Or do I have more to look at... I'm just considering that the R22 is massive there are so few of them why not give it more oompf and make it all the more unique...

I believe the bore diameter is slightly different.

The WMR has a longer action than the regular 22 LR gun.

About the only part of the gun that can be re-used if you do a build, is the trigger group. Barrel maybe, though it should be changed up to a .224 bore instead of the .221 to .223 that gets used for the LR.

Stock won't be able to be inletted to fit. Action is different. Mags too.

If you dig around online, there have been a couple guys documented their builds of 10-22 clones that they did in WMR.

Cheers

I read from the OP project is dead in the water but I have to ask . Is the bore different? I had a .22 /.22 mag single action pistol where all I swapped out was the cylinder in order to change calibers.reason I ask is I have contemplated this on a .22 single shot cooey.I have 4 and there all .22 & worth about $40.00 ea.would be no loss to collector value.
