22 lr winchester ammo

Ammo, either ya gartzs it oar ya don't.
Winchester 555's for gofers.
Would like to find a few more boxes of this chit
fer the fur coming up.

My 10/22 loves the Win bulk packs! It has worked much better than the American Eagle, and even the CCI that I've tried in the 10/22.

interesting, I find CCI to be on a completely different playing field than the bulk win, I have never had a stitch of trouble in a semi with CCI

several other forums as I search and read have mostly the same controversial issues as here, some good some real bad

Yes please it is junk leave it on the shelf for me.

Shoots very good from my cz, worked fine in my r22 as well. Really like that ammo for cheap bulk ammo.

I have to agree. Tried them in my bolt action CZs this spring and what a surprise! Most accurate bulk ammo at least in my 22s! Had 2 duds out of about 800 rounds...

Ammo of choice for my Browning Buckmark, probably about 10,000 rounds through it with hardly any problems. Have the odd FTF but it was cheap ammo when I bought it. Still have over 2 cases so it'll last a while yet.

Winchester ammo may not be great but is hands down better than anything from Remington. That stuff is pure garbage!!

I find the golden bullets and yellow jackets to be very consistent and reliable, however I will agree that grouping is not great and its filthy, and the thunderbolts....i'll pass on

Sitting here with two boxes of 555 I just bought. I'll see how the 10/22 likes them later in the season. Choice is fairly limited when it comes to .22 locally. And they're so nice and shiny :)

Winchester bulk stuff worked great in my Ruger MK3's, Savage MK2 and now in my PPQM2 and Chiappa 22 upper. The M-22's work great as well, I have about 2000 of 333's and 4500 M-22's in my stash. Pretty much only decent priced stuff I can find.. range only has Lapua and some match grade stuff, expensive though.. I hit the small hunting stores near my house for stock.

Do we have any CGN sponsors who still have stock on 22LR Winchester 555..

locally i just decided to stop looking..

and Walmart used to have them for 21$-23$ / box.. now its empty shelves everywhere and they have been that way for a long time.

I just went through a box of Winchester 333. They are not very good in my S&B semi, they were stovepiping quite a bit & left a lot of fouling after only maybe 200 rounds. I would save them for bolt actions, pump actions, and lever actions. You might need a Long lever Martini Henry converted to .22 LR to work them through the action. :p

Strange, I have had better luck with older Winchester bulk pack. What is up with the qc?

wondering about some feedback, the Winchester 555, 333, 222, value packs, I don't expect fantastic results with this ammo as far as grouping goes, the way 22lr is right now this is one of the brands I run across regularly that is actually stocked so I bought some.

this ammo is complete garbage in semi's as far as I am concerned, it wont cycle, it fails to eject, it stove pipes, it is completely erratic and there are an unusual amount of duds and when it does fire and cycles

I bought a case of Win555's when they cost < $21/brick. I've shot 3/4's of the case with very little issues. Obviously, my bolts aren't picky and the only semi I have now is a Ruger MKIII Standard which actually eats them up with zero issues.
I won't hesitate in buying more when the time comes….

ok, heres some additional interesting info, tried 2 more semi auto rifles today extensively with the 555 bulk, both norks, a jw 14 semi, and a jw 20 semi {browning takedown clone} the jw 20 ran pretty good, not great, typically 1 error of some kind per 10 rds, however the jw 14 ate them up, the only problem of any kind out of 200 rds was 3 duds and 1 stovepipe, oddly enough that is the best results I have had so far with the win 555 bulk packs. my jw 14 has a very high round count through it, I take it to camp to let others shoot regularly so it gets a lot of use, just irons on it and I don't care if it gets bumped or banged around.

Have any of you people having problems with ammo ever considered that it might be your gun not the ammo which causes you so guys much problems ?

I only say this because I bought a Ruger 10/22 and a Kidd bolt ( Which comes with the kidd firing pin and ejector ) put it in my Ruger day one before even firing a single round and since .22 ammo is whatever you can find in the store I have been firing anything I can find from the Remington bucket of bullets to the Winchester M22 and the value packs to federal champion and so on and I can honestly say my Ruger has fired whatever I have fed it. I have never even see any CCI ammo let alone fired any and almost all the ammo I have found has people rating it garbage yet every single round in the chamber has fired 100% of the time I have never had a .22 not fire when I pulled the trigger. I have had a couple not fully ejected after firing and got stuck but that's a handful out of thousands of rounds. My biggest issue by far has been butler creek magazines not feeding right so i've had to deal with that problem occasionally but it's really just minor and to be expected I think.

So when I see posts like this it makes me wonder because I know I upgraded to the Kidd bolt in my Ruger but still I have no idea what to think after seeing posts like this because I have never experienced any these issues. Maybe it's the Kidd bolt I don't know but I will take any garbage rounds anyone has and feed it into my Ruger any day of the week

I have a box of Winchester 333 (about a year old) that I've run through both of my Marlin 795s, Savage FV-SR, Savage Rascal, Norinco JW15A backpacker and my Anschutz 1450. Won't reliably hit a 3" circle on paper @ 50 yards. The Anschutz almost pulled it off. :) Every single ammo I've run through all of these guns is better, including Winchester T22 and Wildcat. The latter...not much better than the 333 though. I dearly want this rubbish to shoot well from at least ONE of my guns...but it doesn't. Instead...I reluctantly ration my small stock of CCI SV...or if the skin on my hands is dry, SK Standard. :)
