I cannot speak for anyone else, but I have owned several 22 WMRs over the last 4 decades, including Mossberg 640K, Marlin 852, CZ 452, Winchester 9422M, etc. However, the one I have at present is without a doubt the most accurate, and the least ammo-fussy WMR I have ever owned. It is a Ruger 77/22M. [Stainless Laminate version]
I have shot many sub-moa groups at 100 yards with it, using a variety of ammunition. Regards, Eagleye.
Eagleye is right about the ruger 77/22, it feels really good in the shoulder too. I still prefer my Savage BTVSS in .22wmr. It only costs $380 or so, and is a serious tack driver. Free floating heavy stainless barrel, thumbhole stock(very comfy), accutrigger, and detachable mag. It just gave me more $ for a better scope. This would get you the rifle and scope for about $750 depending on scope preference. Good luck.
Savage's are good to look at.. I have the Savage 93FV. and it is quite a shooter. Accutrigger is great. My friend who just got his gun license says he wants the same gun after shooting mine all winter.
My remington model 5 .22 wmr is a great shooter. Had a trigger job done on it to eliminate long trigger pull and reduce pull to 2.5lbs, shoots awesome now, nice smooth action
I have the Remington model 5, which isn't a Remington, made in Serbia. They have been on sale lately at Epps and Wholesale. Mine is a great shooting 22 mag with CCI Maximags.
You should be able to get 3 of them for $750.00. If you go to Rimfire Central you can check out the infi on Charles Daly's, that is who the importer in the USA was when they were available. FS
I'd go for the Ruger 77/22 or a Cz. They are more expensive than the Savage but if you compare them side by side you'll see why. I like the solid feel of the Ruger's reciever and how the mag sits flush. I have a Cz 452 Lux 22wmr and I love it. Best rimfire I have ever owned.
Go get that one on EE , and don't look back, I have the LR 1415/16 exactly like that. These guns are wonderful, My 22 mag has the double set trigger, but a 1516 , the 1515/16 is a nicer gun

The Ruger 77/22 is an excellent choice. I also have a relativly new Sako Quad, which is a few doolars more, but is even more accurate than my ruger. However do not buy Wallymart Win. Dynapoint ammo, as it shoots worse than the cheapest 22 lr. ammo made!!
