Great thread! I have three Rugers 77/22 WMR, all stainless, two are the longer heavier barrels in laminate stocks and one with the shiny metal and thinner barrel. A friend called me a hoarder. They are all very accurate but I didn't do proper group testing which I plan to do over the winter months. The thin barreled Ruger heats up quickly when you shoot two magazines in a row so not exactly a range toy. They sure are some of the prettiest rifles ever made. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I recently picked up a Henry H001M that shoots great with both Federal 50gr. JHP. and Hornady 30gr. VMax - averaging about 3/4" or a bit better at 50 yards. Makes an excellent rifle for small game cruising - I'll bring my Foxpro and try calling some hollow trees for raccoon, try the odd stand for coyotes in the woods. But not overpowered for shooting rabbits and also great for squirrels. Like brybenn said, a shot through the ribs wastes no meat. The .22 WMR is superior for all small game uses here in the east, IMHO. Ammo is a bit cheaper than .17 HMR - the Federals run about $20/50 vs. $25 for most the the .17HMR stuff which is typically a polymer tip varmint load.
I'm definitely in the market for a CZ 457 as well - I love the idea of having a quality switch barrel rimfire rifle.

I've just recently caught the 22 WMR bug. I just purchased the Ruger American in 22 WMR as it was both inexpensive and had iron sights. I put a decent scope on it and am still going through the process of ammo selection. I am doing just under an inch at 50 yards with Federal 40gr but have only been out with it a few times. I am already thinking of my next one which will be either a CZ or a Bergara.
Another 22 Mag is the Browning t-Bolt. It carries 10 rounds in the magazine and is fast to load. Accuracy is acceptable and it was made in a Sporter / walnut stock or composite stock; a Varmint Style with a heavier barrel and a walnut or composite stock.
CZ 512 semi, 22WMR the best semi out there!!.........10 round magazines are a plus!!!

I have a Ruger American Rimfire in 22mag. I bought it for my father for his 65th birthday, and now it's in my possession. He is not using it, as he's no longer amongst the living. I struggle to find a use for it. I'm going to have to pick up fox hunting, i think. Because, otherwise, this rifle is wasted on me.

I just got this Rossi RB22M. It's a really comfortable rifle and the price was right. With illuminated 3-9x40 Bushnell and ATRS rings it's 5lbs 10oz and seems like it'll be a great combo... if it shoots ok.
Let us know? A decent 22WMR bolt action @ a great price would be nice. Needs to be able to hit a pop can @ 100 yards though. (no pop cans would be harmed)
Don’t the 10/22 mags have a habit of blowing the ass end out of the reciever?
