Hi I am looking for any information about a .22 Mercury rifle. I have just bought one and it looks almost identical to a cooey rifle, I cannot find any info on this gun anywhere. if anyone has some info please help me out as I plan on giving this rifle to my neice sometime in the next year. thank you

Cooey, like many other gun makers, would make rifles for any company that would buy them, and put appropriate house brand markings on them.

There were rifles made for Eatons, Sears, Fields, Macleods, and other large chain stores under their own name, but were made under contract by Cooey.

I think that MERCURY was a brand name for Woodwards Department Stores.

To get an accurate idea of what model rifle you have, it is best to post pictures of the rifle. Check the "Stickies" for information on how to do this.

old post but I have all the cooey mercury rifles and couple shotguns, very hard to find. Even have a mint mercury 60 shoot me a text well send pics
