This should be a Sticky never minds locking it.

On a side note I talked to a guy on another forum, who has one in the states, he saiz its super fun to shoot and all other .22s dont compare.

Especially for us who'll never own a real one lol

I wander what'll come first... news on the GSG or the end of the world?

This thread has a lot of chaff. Can someone please "Coles Notes" this thread so I can figure out what's going on? I really want to purchase this gun but apparently the RCMP has deemed it prohibited based on looks? May I ask who is the distributor? Thanks.

LoL

I'll put it this way... read the last 10 pages and all your answers will be there... we seem to repeat ourselves about every 10 pages... do the math :D

BUT... here it goes...

-RCMP saw it at the SHOT show, not a fully developed one just the body(?) of it. They weren't even allowed to touch one. So based on Pure aesthetics they said it was a MP5 Derivetive in some way, and therefore Prohib status'ed it.

-They(RCMP) were sent a Sample by GSG [german manufacturer] of said 'rifle' (?) and have been sitting on it for about 3 months now(?) and we havent heard anything since.

-US Price I believe was quoted at 450$ we were told more than likely it'd be in the 750$ range... some say as low as 600 some said as high as 900.

THE END

lol And yes that is 109 pages of discussion and tid bits condensed into 3 very poorly written paragraphs (insert run on sentences)

OK, I"m far too lazy to read all the threads here, but I think I had this gun in my hands this morning.
A friend of mine who is a dealer here in Northern Ireland has it, it"s a GSG Sports or something. It is a really good HK copy, and very well made. Not a flimsy tin/plastic thing, but feels like a proper gun. I was impressed with the whole thing although I don"t feel the need for one right now.
It has a dummy suppressor covering the barrel from the fromt sight to the muzzle, all it"s missing is a red dot sight(aimpoint?)
I hope you guys can get it on the grounds that it"s designed from scratch as a rimfire, not the mp5 converted.

So is the RCMP going to amend their original classification given that they have a sample gun to inspect.

I see no excuse for them not to at least be transparent about their decision-making process in regards to classifcation or potential reclassification this firearm. I guess it could be worse.

Well if they ever did anything that made sense then we wouldn't be hear complaining.

If they de-prohibited this then it would be all the other guns on the list that also make no sense, so it just not going to happen.

GSG-5 design was finalized in September ’07. First run model was sent to RCMP, for examination month later, in late November.

Blue Line Activities Ltd is German Sport Guns Gmgh, Canadian agent from the start. Providing that everything goes as we all hope, large shipment will leave Germany as soon as reclassification is done. Warranty service and West Coast coverage will be done through Dlask Arms, and one of the major distributors is going to be The Shooting Edge.

We trust that RCMP’s FRT division is going to recognize the differences and reclassify GSG-5 from prohibited into non restricted and restricted categories.

We are looking forward to becoming one of Canadian Gun Nutz sponsoring dealers and presenting you new products in days to come

Best Regards,
Blue Line Activities Ltd.

thats a quote... page 8 or so... FYI i am not posting for or associated w/ Blue Line..

Heh heh heh - this thread is like a turd that won't flush... except it involves something I want to keep.

I wonder if those Blue Line guys have any further news on this. The RCMP are probably still biting their nails trying to figure out how to rule this as prohib and not have it fought, lost, then have to de-prohibit all the other guns in their registry of stupidity.

I don't understand why you guys still want this potmetal subgun imitation when you can buy yourselves a nordic kit that would pretty much blow this thing out of the water on every level...
