Nahhh. I got it.

I have a plinker (Ruger 10/22 with a AKS-74u kit)
and It's perfect for cheap & fun shoot, when I let friends try firearms for the first time.

But on the GSG-5, with the front grip handle the guy installed, there's no "fun" at all. No recoil felt.
Only point & shoot, that's it. No fun there!

By the way, it's not because I got 3 posts, that i'm a noob here.
I've been reading this forum for about 2 years. Just didn't had the will to post anything. I'm already subscribed to way too much boards...

What in God's name would you expect? It's a .22 rimfire for sheet sake! Are you trying to tell us your 10/22 is fun because it does have "felt recoil"?

Calling you a "noob" has nothing to do with your post count. It's what you've said that lead me to that conclusion.

Sorry for the confusion...

The thing is that, the GSG-5 is a .22 Caliber. Right?

So, *IN THE VIDEO SHOWN*, why the heck, the guy put a handle on the front grip!?
I could understand, if the caliber would have been 5.56mm / 7.62mm, to keep a steady aim, while shooting...

But for a .22LR caliber... Why put this accessory, beside for "look"... That gives no challenge at all... All bullets will group.

I'm sure you know, what I mean...

Enough talking. Let's bring back to the topic!

Anyone here, finally bought a GSG-5?

I'd sell my first unborn baby's crib, pallet of diapers, and baby seat for one of those.

I know a (41) page thread is much too long to get involved with from the beginning, however, if you've read the last serveral pages, you'd see that they are not available here yet and that they are subject to RCMP forensics evaluation before being allowed for import into the country.

TSE out of Calgary is expecting to bring some in should they be legal for importation.

Allright!
Thanks for the input/short review! ;)

How can you have been reading the forums for 2 years when you haven't even been registered for 1? Multiple accounts? Someone banned that has returned? Inquiring minds want to know.

The question I'm asking myself here is will this gun be really THAT much more fun to shot than my Rem. 597 with a 30 rounder?

I think I'd rather get 9mm Cx4 Storm (to go with my 92FS) if the price will be the same...

Nah... None of these! I got a white board here. Never had to face the Mighty power of the Mods :) Don't bother my nickname, it's an old story with this nick, and it doesn't mean nothing here.

Like I said. I've been reading on this forum for a long time (registered only a year ago - Jan 2007), to get informations with the "search" option.
For example, interesting hints/informations about firearms I own, which other modded or other things related to that....

I start roaming the forum in 2006. And finally, I needed to talk with members from here.
So I registered a year ago and I didn't really felt the need to write publicly, a new thread or something like that.
Most of my communications were made via private messages. That's all.

Like I said, I'm already into lot of forums on internet, so last year, I didn't really had time to invest into this forum.

But now it's a different story. I got more free time at the job! :D
So I "try" to invest a little, but it starts with people telling me i'm a noob or ####ty things like that... Doesn't give me a good start nor a good impression from people here!

I called TSE (James) today, still waiting... They are Prohib as of right now, but they are hoping to hear different.

Someone ban him, he's a mopar lover!! :p But seriously, the latest news were posted less than four hours before your post. Still just waiting... As soon as there is more information it will be posted for sure.

And also :sucks:, it's just making me all frisky, and I can't do anything about it! Well, I guess I've been fondling my toys more than usual.

Update on the GSG MP5 .22lr clones

I just heard the pre-sales are over and the ad has been pulled for these as the date of release has been pushed off until an unspecified date.
Also turns out it is not a metal/steel rifles, it is based on the GSG MP5 plastic shell, so might aswell build our own custom MP5's as looks like this one might be vaporware or at the least $500 worth of plastic.
Imagine the guniea pigs that have pre-ordered and pre-paid for 10 units already. I bet they are worrying now.

PERFECT example why I NEVER pre-order anything.

Just thought I'd pass it on.

Who cares if it's plastic? Half the guns out there nowadays are plastic anyways, and a lot of them are really well made.

Some of those military grade polymers are tough as f@ck.
