.22 powderless ammo

Can't.

Take a look at the CB Cap type rimfire ammo from RWS, or if you can find any, from Winchester/Remington/Etc. Failing that, look for "Standard velocity" rather than "High Velocity" Short ammo.

The Aquila stuff is made in Mexico, distributed in North America by a US agent, and they pretty much have their hands full keeping up with demand in the US. Further to that, they would need to apply for export permits to export it in any amount, with Import permits required on this end.

Supposedly there is an importer setting the wheels in motion, but I'd suggest that you would be better served investing in lottery tickets, Florida real estate by mail, or a nice investment in Nigerian Bearer Bonds, in about that order of preference, rather than betting on it all coming to pass and the ammo ending up on Canadian shelves.

But you can always hope.

Realistically, if you 'need' to try some of this, your best bet is to shop the gun shows in hopes that someone has some for sale for not too much over the odds. At least then, it's them, not you, that is taking teh chances with never being allowed back into the US of A again, beause they broke US Export laws.

Holy crap. The guy just asked a simple question. Was there a real need for a rant about import/export legalities?

That's not a rant joe-nwt. It's pretty much just the facts. Well, except for the Nigerian Bearer Bonds. They might pay off, eh.

Would you have posted something if I had just ended the above post at "Can't" ? I figured it would be more useful to explain why one can't buy the stuff here.

Aquila ammo is a topic that comes up here about every second week at a minimum, usually it's because someone wants the SSS stuff, though. :)

WOW! If that answer is a RANT, then all those wild, barking mad posts are going to need a new name and classification.

I think the answer to the OP's question is quite a good one. It gave a short answer, then a very good explanation of why the answer was valid.

To quote Shakespeare: "Methinks he doth protest too much."
