22 Precision match Oct 27, Guelph Rod and Gun Club

If possible, can I get my name on a mailing list for the next event? I'm on CGN all the time, but not every forum. This might be one I would have actually gotten involved with! I also like that the targets are clay pigeons (reactive), cheap, easy to see, etc. Anyone pulling out calipers to measure groups when there is a time limit~I'd be less likely to jump in on it.

I trust a hit is a hit, whether the clay breaks apart? (for next time) Dead center shots seldom/never break the clay. Just sayin'.. :)

We don't have an email list for this at this time but since it was a successful event I'll likely put it on again next year as long as the Guelph Rod and Gun Club will let me use the range. Very probably a side match for the Ontario Practical Multigun Shooting League, bookmark opmsl.ca for details as we stand up the league over the winter, including dates as we secure them.

Thanks,
DINK

You're correct, 25-30% of the time the clay doesn't break and just a neat .22 cal hole shows that you've made a hit. It doesn't matter though, it still counts. The scoring is one point for each clay that is hit and the time to it took to "break" all ten clays for that stage. Maximum time allowed for each stage was 2 minutes. Timing is done with an IPSC shot timer, accurate to 1/100 sec. For this match, there were no limits on the number of shots per stage which favoured the semi-auto rifles. I did quite well with a stock Ruger 1022. The only things added were a picatinny top rail with a 1.5-5X scope and a short picatinny rail on the bottom of the fore-end to mount a Harris bi-pod with a QD mount.
