Anyone know of a benchrest quality gunsmith who can chamber a barrel for the REM .22BR. I have a single shot 40XB-KS in .22-250 that I am thinking of getting rechambered to .22BR. Only because I have a few .22-250's already. I am a little reluctant as the .22-250 40X consistently grouped around .35" when using wind flags, but I have not shot it for 20 years and it only has 156 rounds thru it . But I have a nice supply of BR brass, both Lapua and Remington left over from my my previous Wichita .22BR, as well as Wilson and Redding competition die equipment. It is either rechamber or sell the 40X. I need a chamber with a .248 neck so there may not be a lot of 'smiths out there with that reamer. Any leads would be appreciated.

With all that 22 BR stuff you have, you should be buying a reamer...

I sold my 22 BR reamer a few weeks ago... had it for many years only chambered one barrel... don't remember the neck diameter...

I think I still have a PTG .22 BR reamer in my shop... I built two rifles in .22 BR, loved the cartridge... used Lapua brass... I believe that I already sold the John Whidden .22 BR dies.

Yeah … makes sense. When I owned my previous BR I had a reamer but sold it after I sold the rifle.
