I just rebuild a 1955 Marlin 39A it came drilled and tapped for a scope but the one that was on it was blurry at 20 yards. So I bought a new 3 X 9 rimfire scope for it and mounted it today. Problem is its still blurry at 20 yards. I unscrewed the rear set ring and turn the rear objective lens all the way out and all the way in but I still can not get it to come in clear. All my other scope have paralax adjustments on the front objective lens so it easy to get them clear at almost any range. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

most scopes have a paralex set at 100yds. If you buy a specific rimfire scope I think they are set at 50 or like you said just get an adjustable objective

The problem is because it is an old rifle the scope mounts on the barrel and it will only accept a 32 to maybe an 36 mm objective lens. I will be talking to a friend who sells Leupold scopes and if a VX-II rimfire scope will fit it has a 33mm objective lens with adjustable parralax down to 10 yards I just don't know if it will fit? It looks to big in the pictures.
