My small .22 ammo stash.....
012_zpsed558aec.jpg

I should be able to start shooting some of it this month.:D

How about you folks?

I have enough for a while. Not gonna post pictures because big brother doesnt need to know what I have.

I'm OK for a while too. I'm starting to really feel that the supply (of decent .22lr ammo) might be a bit spotty for the foreseeable future, so I visit the gun shop every week and buy a couple more than I'm going to use on the weekend. By the time the shelf is empty at the store (even temporarily) I have a month's-worth on hand. 17M2 ammo (here in Ontario) isn't common at all, so I grabbed an extra 5 boxes when I saw it on the shelf Friday.

This is some of my ammo, about 18,500 rounds of it is .22LR. I have another stack of crates of assorted .308, .223, 12Ga & 9mm

Right.
I see a lot of ammo brands pictured, so tell me, in desending order, how do you rate the different brands of 22 ammo?

I could rate them but how a particular ammo performs for me may differ from how it performs for you. Each gun has its favorite flavour. For bulk .22LR, I like Winchester 333/555 for performance & reliability. CCI Blazer is also very good. YMMV

Just to appease my curiosity. How deep is that cabinet? You can use 555 boxes as a measurement lol. Also I'm showing this to my wife. Just to prove it's normal to horde ammo. lol

The cabinet is 10 inches deep. Just deep enough for 3 rows of the 555 boxes. Everyone has a different reason to horde ammo. Some do it for when AHBL or SHTF. I horde because of a few reasons:

1) The price keeps going up
2) The supply keeps going down
3) When they start restricting or microstamping, I won't need to buy it anymore
4) If required, I can barter ammo as good as any other product and if/when SHTF, it will be better than gold.

To sum it up, ammo is a great stable investment. I have .223Rem 20-packs with $4.65 price tags on them.

I can remember just 5 years ago when Norinco .223 was common and $4.50 a box.

Buy it cheap, stack it deep...applies to .22 ammo as well. Can't have too much.
