if you are using them for the dixie gun works rimfire adapters you would not need any black powder as the hilty caps are quite powerful but getting them out maybe difficult as they will rupture

I just measured a .22LR case (unfired) and for the most part it came out at .225", the picture that you posted shows a tin of 6 m.m. blanks which would be .236 " so they may be larger than .22 blanks. I think I saw some in a gun shop not far from me, I will check next time I go by there. What are they used in?????...they are very small but probably make a big bang.

They are for starter pistols. I will be in Vancouver in 12 days from now, maybe you could help me somehow. Looking for 2 to 5 boxes (100 in each).

:D

I will check tomorrow at the shop that I mentioned, if they have some I will let you know, it doesn't seem to move that fast but I could get some set aside if you want.

Re the Hilti shells; not only are they longer but they are also .27 caliber

cheers mooncoon

The .27 caliber ones are. Pretty sure there are larger ones too.

The Reminton .22 power driver loads are longer. They are the ones that most hardware stores stock. They wont fit in a starter pistol worth a hoot.

The best bet I can offer is to keep a lookout for a stocking RWS dealer. I'm pretty sure I've seen those blanks available at Wholesale sports. Check BassPro too. They would most probably be with either the airgun stuff (the rest of RWS' stock line) or with the dog training stuff.

Check the sports supply places and ask for starter pistol blanks.

Gotta be at least a cople places around TO that stock them, but mail order is probably the best bet.

Cheers

All what I could find online is in the US, thanks.

I went by the store today and they have only 2 tins (100's) of those left...someone bought 15 yesterday????They are closed tomorrow but if you like I can go in on Friday and have them set aside for you, I have to check up on a revolver that I have in there for repair anyway so it is no problem.

Thank you so much for your offer. Luckily I found some locally, so no need to do anything.

Thanks again for everybody who had replied.

As mentioned above, they sell those at Wholesalesports, quite cheap actually, 100 for $6.49, made by S&B.

I had 5 empty casings from HC-collection with a bullet already seated, so I took my chance and made 2 rounds

1st round with 2.7 grain of Unique and the acorn 22 primer
2nd round with just the yellow (level4 power) ramset "primer", NO powder added
3rd round, just factory 32 rimfire CIL

Result: wow, that Hilti stuff really has a bang, at the top of what I would recommend, the big problem is getting the burned stuff out of the casing, therefore casing life will be shortened. Second is the factory load, third the Unique loaded round, nice and smooth, really no need using BP, so for long life 2.7 grain of Unique is perfect, maybe 3 grain for a bit more bang.

Didn't bring my chrony, next time, more professional results. Hope it still helps one or the other.
