I just received my first 22. Its a Cooey Ranger and it fires S-L-LR. That got me thinking:

Is 22 short ammo still being sold anywhere?
Can it possibly be any cheaper than 22LR?
Other than plinking, would there be an advantage to using 22S over 22LR?

In Short:

-Yup, still being sold
-Not usually cheaper that I know of, same or more usually
-Can cram more shots into a tubular magazine, can be quieter, but other than that 22LR out performs in most situations IMHO.
 
Since you're in the same city as I, where have you seen them? I went to CT in Orleans, this morning, and didn't see any. I'm guessing you're going to say LeBaron's...
 
Some CT's carry 'em, dedicated firearms stores will mmost probably have 'em....Bass Pro too....:yingyang:

Quieter ammo, and definitely fun to cram many down a magazine (esp. in a semi-auto tube-firer) as aric84 said....:D
 
Yup, the ct's around ottawa do carry shorts, but you have to look.
You should know that lebaron's never has anything that you want to buy in stock... If I can remember I will see if they have any at stittsville range.
