My standard load is whatever bulk lr is on sale, but I picked up a box or long subsonics and shorts to test them out. My test rifle was a cooey 600, right off the bat both were dramatically quieter than a lr round, no "crack". I put the noise somewhere between a co2 pellet gun and a paintball marker. Now, the shorts would not feed in my 600, they didn't line up with the chamber and hit the back of the barrel, causing many of them to.have their bullets come loose. The longs fed just fine and sounded the same as the shorts. Both had around 1050fps printed on the box, the shorts were 32 grains and the longs were 40 grains, which I would consider comparable. So if I.need a more subdued round the choice for me is 22l subsonics, but to each his own.
