Sigh.
Canadian Tire stopped carrying .22 LR (and any other ammo, for that matter) in many parts of southern Ontario, and it is quite a disappointment.
For that matter, air-rifle pellets aren't stocked that much either, and this is also a shame - I have no need for paintballs and Airsoft projectiles; I just want to shoot my .177 and my .22 LR's.
As for the Wal-Mart's here: out of three stores, only one sells ammunition, and the ammunition sold was .410 and 12 gauge shells, .30-30 and .303 rifle rounds, and a tiny amount of 9mm. I sometimes think that they entirely miss the point.
Apparently, locally I am stuck with the choice of pricey subsonic Match .22LR in Hamilton, and high-velocity bulk packs of Rem Yellow Jackets and Winchester rounds. Not that I'm complaining...not too much, anyhow.
I'd love to shoot the 60-grain Aguila SSS and their new 40-grain Interceptor. Oh, and the CCI CB Longs, for sure. Oh, well...
Cabela's is opening up shop in Montreal soon enough, and hopefully that'll be helpful. In the meantime, Bass Pro, Le Baron's and Wal-Mart seem disappointing in their offerings here.
P.S. My point (if there is one) is not to criticize or complain; I'm just feeling a lot of empathy for .22 LR shooters reduced to firing a limited diet of ammunition, when there is potentially so much else out there.
P.P.S. I'm always open to ideas.
