22 silhouette shooting...What to use the Henry or the ruger

I want to do my first compitition style shooting I have a Henry h001 and a ruger 10/22 takedown and a Simmons "22 mag" scope (32mm 3x9 iirc). I'm just not sure what to use...my first time out with the ruger today and I was amazed at the tight groups I was getting with the takedown, I think it's a little easier just because its a semi and I don't group as nice with the Henry just from working the lever. But maybe a takedown model isn't the best idea for repeated accuracy? Some input as to what I should mount the scope to for the match would be appreciated. I hope I have this in the right section thanks
 
Ps I've also been told before a match to run about 100-150 thru the chamber then sight in the scope because lead/wax will build up in the barrel and make it more accurate?
