Hi, so today I bought some .22 shorts by mistake (impulse buy) when I was buying some .308 and 12 gauge ammo. I do not own a .22 short anything nor do I know anyone who does.

But looking around at my buddies .22 rifles he has a old one that says .22 SL OR .22 LR. What does the .22 SL mean? I googled it and couldnt find much info. Does that mean he can use the .22 short?

Thanks,
RMM

You can use shorts in a 22lr no problem(won't fit in magazine), I but hundreds through mine shooting pigeons in our barn. As for 22sl no idea but they have made 22 shorts, 22 long, and 22 long rifle over the years.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I own a savage 64f and was thinking since it is a .22 LR I could just hand feed em, just wasnt sure.. and with the 200 rounds I bought That would take for ever.
