.22 tactical ammo

Yea, my crappy tire has it.
I don't even know where to begin with a 'is this .22lr ammo tactical?' question.

IMHO, there is no such thing as a "tactical" .22. It is a .22 and fires .22 ammo. Granted, there have been very limited cases of the Israeli's using 10/22's against insurgents, and apparently, .22 handguns were used by assassination teams from Israel and the Communist block, but a .22 is a small game, target and varmint gun. You can dress it up to make it look cool, but it will always be a .22. As a matter of fact, as civilians, there is no such thing as a "tactical" firearm. There are firearms dressed up to look tactical, but that's it. granted, this is my opinion only, and feel free to disagree.

any idea as to how tactical this is? is this like the zombie ammo? saw the stuff at cabelas usa. not smart enough to post a pic, sorry.

Is this the CCI AR Tactical .22 ammo your talking about?

^x10 I don't mind military-looking rifles, but seeing .22lr and "tactical" in the same sentence has always sounded really "off" to me. I've never seen the squirrels/rabbits in your neck of the woods, but it would be hard to imagine that stuff would offer much of a tactical advantage. :) Don't know too much about it, but about 2/3 of the ammo I feed my rimfires is CCI...probably well made.

It's only your typical 40-gr. copper-plated bullet with a muzzle velocity of 1,200 fps.

It's strictly a marketing thing. There just riding the coattail of the "tactical" wave.

tactical .22 ammo!!
That should feed a lot better in my regular .22 rifle, equipped with a tactical plastic dress-up kit!

I know someone that'll buy it just for the name, and not just once. It'll be his one and only regardless how well his rifle likes it or not

...and that's exactly why they market the ammo as "tactical".
Kinda like the "heavier" pound. People think their getting something more or better when there really not.

when i saw this post i rushed right down to my local canadian tire and luckily they still had a few boxes left for my "tactical" .22 when they asked for my pal they recorded my info in invisible ink that can only be seen under uv light. with all the claims lately of poorly guarded customers information i sure am glad that they took the extra step to insure my privacy as id hate anyone knowing i had such special ammo for my rifle. thanks ct Laugh2

The ammo Canadian Tire has is Winchester M-22. Box is black and has a picture of a tactical type rifle on the front. It's a 40 gn solid bullet at 1255 FPS.
States it's designed for higher capacity magazines. Can be used for plinking or target shooting.
I bought a brick for s**ts and giggles to try in my Mossberg 715.
It was only $23 a brick.

This is what showed up at my local crappy tire IIRC

f:P:2: Well.... a least Winchester gave it some colour to make it seem meaner!!! :D

In all fairness though, this stuff will most likely run better and have less jams in a semi-auto rifle because of the round nose.

Hollow points as a rule of thumb, DO NOT chamber well in a semi-auto and lead to most of the jamming problems that do occur especially in high cap mags.

I will buy some for the silly factor like the hornady zombie ammo.
Had a laugh at the CCI but the winchester black tip thats gone too far.
I need them both now!! Its gotta work better than the crappy federal bulk i use now.
Thanks for posting.

Tactical rimfire

Well, the winchester ammo doesn't say tactical on the box, but I could of swore I seen 'tactical' on the one in CT.
