My latest build (3 sets). Targets are 3/8, upright rod is 5/16th, frame is 5/8 rod and base is 1"square tubing. May give you some ideas for your own build.
Not pictured is the 3/8 bolt with T handle to secure the base to the 5/8 rod.

Nice job..I have made a few similar to that over the years and they last an are fun. Keep the pic's coming of all the idea's you come up with. Maybe we can get a site going just for targets and everyones ideas to keep things interesting.

Nice looking silhouettes you made up. Great job. I made up some too but welded them to bases so I can set them down and shoot at them. Lots of fun to be had! :)

Very nice. Well done.

Is there any distortion of the components after a shooting session and do the arms pivot completely 360 degrees around or just swing when hit ? (I will be testing my targets hopefully next week and I am curious how they may behave with heavier arms but shorter length. )

No distortion so far, don't really expect anything with components listed. At 25 yards the chicken can do one 360 but the rest just swing a little. I didn't do too much experimenting to stop the chicken, I actually kinda liked it. It would be easy to install a stop at any predetermined angle if preferred.

The one thing I did not state with original picture is the legs come off quickly for compact storage in the trunk or for shipping.

I think one set will be at the next Selkirk .22 rimfire silhouette competition for display according to the owner.

I have a set of these and they are great fun, my son (12yrs) shoots 22 silhouette and tied for first and won half the prize money at the last Selkirk shoot.I think he will do better after more practice on these swingers.
