22 to 17 hornet

Im thinking of getting a Remington 799 in 22 hornet and turning into a switch barrel project to a 17 A hornet.

Just wondering what I would need and if anyone can recommend a gunsmith that would do a fast reliable job at it.
Any recommendations for a barrel source as well?
This will be a sorter gun would like the barrel to be on the light (around 20”) and short side of things.

You'd have to find a barrel, likely a custom barrel, chamber reamers and headspace guages. The smithy can likely get it all, but you will pay for 'em. Then you'll need dies. I'd look around for a bullet supplier first.
No smithy will be terribly fast. Most of 'em are backed up with work. Call Epp's. Rebarreling starts at $150 plus the cost of the barrel.
