Does anyone have some feedback on who makes a top quality / accurate semi .22WMR? I think Ruger discontinued their 10/22WMR because of some problems. Curious what other options are??

There's a remington 597 semi chambered in 22wmr, but there are also a lot of complaints about jamming in those guns. I think Thompson Centre makes a 22wmr semi and a 17 as well (hmr or hm2?).

Actually The only jamming complaint I've heard about the 597 is on the ,22LR versions. I will say that I love mine (597 in .22WMR).

Jarlath, that's good to know. When I did a search on the net, there were people complaining their 17 version wouldn't feed reliably if you put more than 5 rounds in the mag.

What kind of accuracy are you getting with the 22wmr?

Ruger has discontinued their 10/22 magnum. Rumoured to be coming back at some time, but the redesign isn't being worked on right now. According to Clark Custom Guns site.
HK used to make one. Long dollars and not on the market for long.
Thompson Centre makes a .17 Mach 2, but not a magnum.
Volquartsen, Stateside, builds custom 10/22 in .22 mag. Expensive though. $1058.95US.
Other than that, like Grizzlypeg says, your options are a Remington 597 Magnum or a 597 Magnum LS HB.
Epp's, in Orillia, is listing the Magnum at $446.25. Shooter's Choice is listing a 597 LS Target at $575, the regular Magnum at $480. Both have them in stock too. Other shops will likely have them too, but you'd have to look.
Shooter's Choice is listing magazines at $14.95 each. No listing on Epp's site, but that doesn't necessarily mean they don't have any.

My 597 is a MOA rifle with Winchester 40gr HPs and shoots slightly better with Remington Premium, but it's hard to find. Mine is an early production (1997) rifle and it had feeding issues untill I switched from the plastic to the new generation metal mags. I've also put a VQ hammer and extractor in mine which greatly improved the trigger pull. The extractor probably wasn't necessary but it was $12, so why not. From everything I've read the bugs have been worked out and the new models are both accurate and reliable.

I have a 597 ls hb in .17 hmr that will put 5 inside a 1" square every day of the week in my hands at 106 yrds with tnt and xtp ammo. I shot quick 5 shot groups out to 252 yrds and my 200 yrd group was 2 1/4" and my 252 yrd group was 3 1/4".

I also did the volq target hammer and extractor. Trigger pull is measured 2.5lbs and you can thump anything, including a gopher, as many times in a row as you want as the gun doesn't move while shooting it.

Get the hmr's while you can, they stopped production, they still offer the .22 mag but the hmr's will become collectable i bet.....i'd bet there are shops still with stock on some hmr's too.

Oh, i've got 3 magazines and i keep 8 in them all the time and they cycle all 8 no problems....a bit stiff to load at first but it gets better with a bit of time.

As others have said. It is very accurate. It is one also one of the few semi's I have shot that will reliably eat Winchester Dynapoints.

I usually shoot Federal classic FMJ's, with a cheap 3-9 Bushnell on it (and the Harris bipod) and I can hit the stalks of dandilions at 50m on a regular basis (say 6-7 of 8 shots). If you DO get a remy 597, always ensure you get the newest gen magazines. The old gen one plastic ones were crap. The biggest mistake and issue for 597 owners is that the bolt rails are retained by a pair of set screws. Do NOT do more than lightly snug those screws else the compression forces warp the rails slightly which cause the failure that everyone keeps talking about. That is the weakest link because most people are so used to torquing down screws in assemblies. I have not had to retighten my screws with over 500 rounds of .22 WMR though the 597.

LeBarons sells 597 mags for something like $12-14 each. Snap up a few as they are Gen II or Gen III.

so what do you think, everybody that shoots it want one

Nice! (what is it?) **Edit** never mind Dogger...I see it's a Heckler & Koch 300
