Does anyone have any published data for 220gr RN hornady bullets, with reloader 25 in a 300 Win Mag? I was at wholesale and they were sold out of RL19 and RL22 (and a lot of other powders, too ), but I already have some RL25, but only one of my manuals lists a 220 gr bullet, but doesn't list it with RL25. If I have to, I'll wait until I can get back and get a different powder, but I'd love to load some up with what I have if anyone's manuals have the data I need.

The Hornady # 7 shows 66.5 to start to a max of 74.7 grains of RL-25 for their 220 RN bullet. They show a velocity of 2300 fps - 2700 fps using a Rem. 700 with a 25" pipe using Hornady / Frontier cases and Winchester WLRM primer.

Thank you very much :)
How about that, a listing with the exact bullet, case and primer, Nice! I usually use winchester cases, but I just happen to have 40 once fired by my rifle, hornady cases :D

Why use a 220 gr roundnose? You are giving up the great advantage of a 300 win mag, flat shooting.

Why not just load a 168 gr TSX or 180 gr partition and get both penetration and flat trajectory?

I've got 100 180gr spitzers loaded and ready for working out my most accurate load with those. Variety is the spice of life, and I've heard often the 300 likes bigger bullets, so I thought I'd try them out, no specific reason other than that :)

Good on ya Curt, I am gonna take a look for some 220-250 grainers when I go down south next month. I love the 200 grainers I just loaded, and think that bigger and somewhat slower is the way to go.
Bet those 220's are gonna absolutely ROCK any animal you choose to hit.
I personally would rather get good penetration at 150-200 yards than "super flat blah blah blah" at 500.
Let us know how they work out, I am very curious because I have a major like on for the big bullets. Thats where I think the 300wm truly shines especially over the wsm.

That's a reasonable reason.
