.222 Brass?

The guy I got the brass from said he had maybe 400 more (I bought 200 WW). I tried the 223 brass trick last evening and I could tell I was gonna break my lee press (bargain model I guess). If I form a bunch it'll take them to a buddies place who's got an old CH press. Think it could make 222 from 300WinMag brass without much effort. <g>
 
Well I picked up some dies off someone locally and ran 10 FC brass through the sizer, trimmed em and did a light neck turn to even out the necks.

4 of the 10 ended up with creases in the shoulders but hopefully will iron out when fired. Maybe annealing before sizing woulkd eliminate these creases (not lube dimples but full on creases in the brass).

Found some Sierra 1200 40gr Hornet bullets in my box of goodies and have some 4227 powder in the cupboard. Now if the gun would arrive next week I will be off to the races.

that's too bad, what kind of lube are using ? I found 222 from 223 fairly easy in my Redding press.

About the creases I was reading some Other threads (US boards) and some have resulted to buying an intermediate die to prevent them.
 
Most 222 owners are often higher volume shooters. Not worth the hassle of forming 222 from 233 IMO. Plenty of new 222 brass availabe... Rem., WW, Lapua, etc.. Real nice round to shoot. Have fun.
 
to add to this, the 223 resized brass I used worked well enough...havent' really compared accuracy to regular brass. Ive also got some lapua coming so im not going to keep up that routine but it sure is useful if you are in a pinch.
