like the title says....:) any favorites you,s care to share.?..just picked up one of these toys for the grand kids to play with.... well im sure i,ll plink off a few rounds also;) ..

One of the loads I found shoots pretty good in most guns I have tried is:

55g Winchester SP (bulk pack ones for $10/100)
over
23.4g of Hodgdon's H-335
and a Federal SRP
All stuffed in Winchester brass

What kind of rifle did you get.

if I had a 222, Id start first with Benchmark and a 40 or 50 gr. bullet. Im partial to Nosler Ballistic Tips, but for higher volume shooting, something like a regular Hornady or Sierra spire point would do well.

Memories...

I had a heavy barreled Sako (L79?I forget) in the late sixties... It liked 19.6gr of IMR4198 with a 52gr sierra BT or 53gr FB. Currently H4198SC would feed/measure easier.

23 gr H322 and the 50 Ballistic Tip shoots bugholes in my 788 Remington, but several loads, including a couple already mentioned here, also shoot tiny groups. What can I say? The 222 is one fine varmint cartridge. Eagleye.

My pet .222 load is either a 50 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip or 50 gr Hornady SX over 26.0 grs of BLC2, WW cases, and CCI 400 primers. I've also had good luck with WIN 748 and the .222.

It's too bad the old deuce isn't as poplular as it used to be..... .222 is a lot of fun to shoot.

My standard load was 25.0 grs of Winchester 748 behind a Sierra 52 gr Match bullet. These bullets tend to ricochet badly, if that is a concern try the 50 gr Blitz or similar fragile bullet from another manufacturer.

I shoot a Rem 600 Mohawk .222.It will shoot 40 and 50 gr bullets well.I use vmax(40 and 50 GR) and the HdySP 50 Gr(not the SPSX).The best powders so far are benchmark and H322.I can get groups of 1 3/4" at 200,which is MOCoyote, and then some. The 50 GR HDY SP is my preferred coyote bullet from this little beauty.
