222 Rem

I've been putting your .222 Sako HB to work lately. Well, it's been working great, the person aiming it not so much. The rifle is wonderful, accurate and finely made. My aim last week was not so precise. Missed a coyote at 150 yds. I'll spare you the excuses.

I have owned for a long time a Remington 788 topped with Leupold 6x42.
Handload of 46 grain Winchester hollow points meant for the 22 Hornet.
When I run out of those I have a derge of 46 grain Calhoun double hollow points patiently waiting.

A BLR in a 222 Rem is one I’ve never seen. Cool!

Oh don’t say it’s mine lol. It’s not you it’s the gun. It’s shot out. Don’t worry, I’ll gladly refund it.
 
Here's my Browning Safari. Topped with an M8 16x with target dot. Love the combo. Below is a group of 5 shots. The loner in the target is before I made a scope adjustment. There are are 5 shots in the group. 21gr 4198 and 40gr NBT.

Adding to this was a Mini-14 owner in France, caliber 222 at an indoor range. It appeared that five round magazine was attached somehow at the front. Up reloading one had to somehow pivot it down, then reload this tethered magazine one cartridge at a time.
Then snap it home.
Was on YouTube.
 
My good friend bought a Remington 40x hv barrel all original 1960s loading with,h322,748, 4198 etc 52 and 53 gr bullets. get getting groups .200 to .300"
at 100y . a member from another site AccurateShooter told me try VT 133 powder. WAS ABLE to get some groups .075

For brass, I use reformed and trimmed Lake City 5.56 brass. I then sort by weight and deburr the inside primer hole. It's not bench rest quality but I get 0.5 - 0.75MOA with my hand loads with it.

My 222 Bruno wont shoot longer bullets well at all , to slow a twist rate . It shoots very well with 50 gr. blitz , they are a bit shorter than the hollow point and stabilize well .
 
Getting ready for some prairie dog hunting this summer. Switched a T3x 223 barrel with a 1:12 IBI 222rem barrel. Finally had a chance to sight it in yesterday. No reloads for it yet but it seems to prefer the Sako 50gr over the Hornady 50 gr Vmax. Have not tried any smaller bullets. Bought lots of Sako ammo when the deals were on. I think with some handloads this will shoot well as these were the first few rounds through it.
