When doing my last batch of .222, I noticed one case had a long hole on it from the shoulder to half way up the neck. Very narrow almost like a crack but more like the metal was just missing not cracked? Other than that the case looked fine. Any ideas.

Most case neck cracks happen from work hardening due to multiple reloads. I shoot my 222 brass until cases start to fail...usually 15-18 loads. But back to the original question, I'll bet your shooting regular run of the mill RP or WW stuff and the case is flawed from the fatory brass mill. Seen a few like that with lower end stuff.

It is winchester brass, I have been full length sizing, but just loaded my first neck size batch on the weekend.

That batch is prob 5-6 reloads. The rest all look ok. I have tossed that piece though.
