Just wondering what kinds of ammunition have been working well at longer ranges in your .223? I have a Tikka T3 lite and got some of the 45 Gr JHP Wonchesters but wondering if people have had luck with something else?

Thanks

Not sure about Tikka's but from what I know about M16's

1:12 should be able to stablize a 45 gr bullet
--------------------------------------------------------------------
the original M-16 came with 1:12 in twist and would only stablize
55 grains or less (M193).

the M16A2 has 1:7 in twist and is designed for heavier NATO ammuntion
that is 62 grains (SS109).

Then there is the comprimise 1:9 in twist that can shoot both.

have a varmint SS HB in 223. 1 and 8, mainly shoot Winchester 55 grain white box with absolutely no problems, however I mainly shoot to a max of 100 yards

I shoot reloaded 40gr Hornady V-Max bullets out of my 1 - 12" twist T/C Contender carbine I am amazed at how accurate these bullets are.
