Any long range guys have a pet load for a .223 1:8 twist using VV N540 and the 75 grain A-Max? I'm not familiar with either the powder or the bullet. Winchester brass and CCI BR4's.

Thanks

Start at low and go up 1/2 gr I have seen a 223 shoot 5 shots on .600" at 300 yards and many groups in the .200-250" at 100y

I have an 8 twist Stainless Tikka Varmint. I got it just to play with the heavier 224 bullets, mostly to shoot 400 meters at our new range(when completed this year or early next) annnd for maybe the odd yote set up. So far , just killin paper has been very exciting...for me anyways.;) The first go round I was using 24 grains of AA2230 powder(good temp fluctuation resistance)... 69 gr Lapua Scenars...WSR primers.. and FC & Win brass. Got my 100 yd pet load perfected. 5 shots under a Tylenol pill(less than .250)

I've just gone to a new load for developement now...one of Jerry's(Mystic Precision) pet loads..80 gr A-Max...CCI 450's(when I get em, I'm using the WSR for now) and Varget powder..turns out to be close to the same weight...24 grains...got a 3/4 in group @ 200 yds with no tweaking...YET ;)...looking forward for some more plinking with a little tweaking with this one.:D...Best of luck and Have fun!....Kevin

I have question for the expert, out of my Benelli mr-1 ( not a precision rifle but very accurate for what it is ) my reloads with 52 gr Amax are giving me one inch grouping now everything else open up to 2 inch until i get to the 75 gr BTHP Hornady Match then it go back to 1 inch, the twist is 1 in 9, i guess i have 2 sweet spots... JP.

I used to use 22.7 gr of 8208 XBR under a 75 gr Hornady BTHP- shot into 1/3 minute consistently out of a T3 Varmint. Then sold the rifle. Doh.

Luckily, I used a mulligan recently and picked up another. Hopefully this T3V likes the same. Bought it to 'save money' practicing. That's my story and I"ll keep telling it to myself until I actually believe it. If successful at that skill, I might take a run at politics.
