Most likely you won't need a short base die. That'll return your brass to minimum spec, which usually isn't required.
I've ran literally thousands of rounds through about 6 different ARs where the brass was sized with (in my case a redding) 223 die, not a single problem. Up to 6x loaded with some brass.
One thing you'll likely need for military brass is a tool like dillon's super swager, to get rid of the primer crimp.
Other than that, trim your brass every time, perhaps crimp (or get a tighter neck bushing instead) and you should be gtg.
