Hi all,

Ive been at reloading for almost two years now and am starting to take it a little more seriously. In the middle of my first FTR build and understand .223 Berger 80 & 90 grain VLD's are not all that easy to track down these days. I did a search and could not find any info, can anyone share where they are picking these bullets up right now?

Thanks,

Being in Ottawa, have you checked the Stittsville shooting range store? Last time I was there last week sometime there was a box of Berger 90gr .224" bullets on the shelf and they are a Berger distributor I believe. I only remember because I was looking for the 52gr or 55gr ones and they didn't have any.

Thanks for the responses. I shoot a fair bit at Stitsville however the Bergers are quite pricey there, maybe I`ll look into a volume discount. I`ll also check out Prophet River and Hirsch.

If you're serious about making a. 223 work for F-TR you should come out to Connaught on Wednesday evening. There are several guys there who have tried just about everything to get 80 & 90 VLDs to work, and I'm sure they would be happy to help point you in the right direction; in fact they might adopt you into the "Mouse Club" on site! I know that a few of them are running low on 90 VLDs, so I'd recommend grabbing them wherever you can find them.

Thanks Scott, I was hoping to shoot at Connaught this summer however my barrel hasn't arrived yet. I heard the 90's can be hard to find so I was stocking up while waiting for the rifle to come together. I may stop in some night just to check it out and pick a few experts brains.

I'll see if I can track you down if I do.
