I have an older 1 - 14" twist 26" barreled Ruger tang safety in 22-250 that I have been thinking about improving or rechambering to 22-243 just can't decide what I want to do.
If I improve it I can use my loads that I already have to fire form the cases but the capacity of a 243 case is something to drool over....
What to do...
I also thought about the 22-243 or improved / middlestead version...would be quite the barrel burner .
Probably not worthwhile unless you had a faster twist to shoot the heavier bullets . I guess at least the straight 22-243 would not require fireforming (or would it?) like the AI version but you would be dealing with more case stretch .
the 243/308 case is about as much overbore as I would ever go for a 22 .
