223 and RL15

Anyone use this combo? From my research it's mainly used with heavier bullets due to the slower burn rate, but I'd like to use it with 40 gr BT's and 53 gr TSX. The rifle has a 26" bbl so that should help with the slower powder. I ran some cheapie 45 gr. Rem UMC HP's through the chrony and they're doing just over 3600, so it seems the barrel is no slouch. Anyone have any recipes?

Reloader-15 and 50 or 55 grain bullets is my go to load for the 223. My notes show 27.8 grains of RL-15with with a Hornady 50 grain SP #2245,col 2.23, compressed load, no pressure signs.

Also 27 grains RL-15 with Sierra 55 grain SP #1345, col 2.25, compressed load, no pressure signs.

And 27.2 grains RL-15 with Hornady bulk? 55 grain SP,col 2.16 (at canneleure?), compressed load, no pressure signs.

The second load was the best, but not much difference between all three loads....like a laser beam. It might be a touch slow burn rate, but it shoots so well that I don't mind losing a few fps. I should chrony it though. You might want to drop the powder from about 4 inches above your powder funnel if you plan to get much more in the case.

As for dropping powder, I'm having trouble with static cling in my funnel lately that's giving me fits. I'll do the "tap-the-case-on-the-bench" method.

Static cling, use more bounce in the dryer. I can`t believe i got to say it first. I use a RCBS powder funnel the is treated to not cling, but have seen it in a regular funnel, tis a pain in the butt.
