223 Brass Primer Pocket

The other day at the range, I picked up some various 223 brass that was left on the ground. Most of it was in excellent shape, so I took it home and resized and tumble cleaned. However, some of the brass, the brass with this label: 223Rem P M C has a primer pocket with a red color "recess" around the edge of it... this brass will not accept regular primers.
Thoughts? What's up with this stuff?

The PMC stuff is crimped and sealed (the red lacquer), you'll need to remove the crimp to be able to seat the primers properly. This will require a special tool.

Also, be careful picking up used brass and reloading it; you have no idea how many times it's been reloaded.

you will require a swager. I've used both the rcbs swager and the dillon super-swage. if you dont mind shelling out the $$$, definitely go with the dillon (and im a hornady guy).

Much quicker and cheaper then a swager.... I've done thousands like this.

Just be careful with this method. Too much brass removal and the primer pocket will too loose and the primers will not seal.
