My buddy joeffrey just texted me this pic. Middle one is mine that he is putting together for me. Now to figure out a buttstock as the MDT chassis is on order.

Excellent thank you just checked they have the CTR buttstock with a riser in FDE too. Also sourced a badger ordanance large bolt handle on their site. This build is going to come together quite quickly. :D

Project coming together. My friend Joeffrey cut the barrel, did the crown, installed on receiver & made everything line up, adjusted trigger to 2.5 pds. Just waiting on CTR buttstock, lower rail & then send her out for arma-coat.

Magpul CTR buttstock, cadex castlenut & BO large bolt knob came in the mail today. My friends part that holds the bolt in his lathe came in too so he should have large bolt installed soon. I will send the barrelled action for arms-coat the same color as chassis and buttstock. This project came together real fast.

How much varget? I have Barnes xbt 70 gr x 300, 200 pieces of new lapua brass. I'm going to contact mystic precision for more bullet components so I'll see if he has the bullets you mention. I'm excited about this project as it came together fast & should be fun & somewhat cheap to shoot as I will reload.

My 80gr load was 25gr of Varget. For the Bergers 80.5gr bullets I was using 25.5gr of Varget. That load will work well to 900 meters when I shot the 223 Championship in Ottawa a few years back.

Thanks for the info on loads. I like the CTR and has actually ordered a clip on riser .75 but it didn't come in which is good as I have a perfect cheek weld without it.

Keep in mind the load depends upon the throat in your gun. A short throat will need a lighter powder charge and a longer throat can run them hotter, so check your jam length before you proceed and work up to max in your gun.

BadAsMo I'm learning on reloading N my friend who built this rifle knows his stuff so we will be working up loads to figure out what the rifle likes and sizing , etc. I'm traveling for work tomorrow so hopefully when I get back mid week he'll have large bolt installed and we can do some reloading and shoot her. I'm going to send out for arma-coat after trying her out. Excited! Hahaha

Spoke with murdoc from here and at arma-coat site and he has FDE exact match to the MDT chassis & CTR buttstock so will send the barrelled action to him soon. Travelling right now & hopefully when I return home my large bolt knob will be installed. I was thinking of maybe having my friend cut the barrel to 18 or 18.5" what do you think should I go shorter or leave it at 20"?

Large bolt knob installed as my buddy Joeffrey sent me this text this am. 223 project build is almost complete. Going to reload some rounds tonite & go test hopefully weather permitting. After I'll send her for arma-coat.

Picked it up at lunch time. Do some reloading tonite with Berger 75 gr, some Barnes 70gr & 77gr lapua, varget powder & lapua match brass to see what she'll like. Glad to have it in my hands so quick.
