.223 diameter hornet bullets in a .223 rem

anyone ever tried this is it possible to get any accuracy i just bought a whole bunch of hornet bullets not realizing what they were or am i better to dump it?

All you can do is try them.

You will probably find that they are a loose fit in the neck. OK for a single shot or bolt, but might not stay in place with an auto.
Accuracy might be ok, but as mentioned you will have to try them to find out for sure,.

When sizing to get a tight neck fit you may have to remove the expander button...........Harold

I shot some .223 Hornet bullets in my .222 Rem after buying them accidentally also. I would say they offered somewhat decreased accuracy: my .222 is right around a MOA gun, it was 1.5 MOA or a little worse with the undersized bullet.
